午前中は、デルタ・クリスチャン・スクールの生徒達に、日本文化を紹介しました。

最初は、高学年の生徒、２回目は、幼稚園生を含む低学年の生徒です。アニメ・書道・折り紙・かたかな
の４チームで、アニメチームはダンスがあるので最初全体に向けて発表しましたが、他のチームは、ワー
クショップ形式で行いました。幼い子ども達も興味をもってもらえるように、工夫されていました。
最後に、「ＪＯＹ」のダンスを発表し、質問タイムをもうけました。とてもよい、交流会になりました。

生徒達は、交流会に向けて日本文化を伝える意義をよく考え、企画を練って、おもてなしのこころを忘
れないように、グループ毎に準備をしてきました。今日の交流会で、皆が相手のことを考えることがで
き、きめ細やかで、自分達の仕事を自分達だけで考え実践することができることを見せてくれました。

午後は、ここブリティッシュ・コロンビア州の発祥の地、フォート・ラングレイ(ラングレイ砦)の博物館に
行きました。 博物館というより、19世紀の雰囲気をそのまま残した一角には、マルグリット・ブール
ジョワの時代に、ビーバーの輸出のために建てられたハドソン湾会社のお店(建てられたのは19
世紀)や、初代ブリティッシュ・コロンビア州知事J.ダグラスの屋敷などがあり、古き良きカナダの雰
囲気を満喫しました。
